This Refund and Cancellation Policy outlines the terms and conditions for subscription cancellations, refund requests, and related procedures for the Election Expense Management System provided by EMS Online.
Important: Please read this policy carefully before making a purchase. By subscribing to our service, you agree to the terms outlined below.
2. Subscription Plans
2.1 Available Plans
- Standard Plan: ₹5,000 (One-time or as per selected duration)
- Features: Unlimited expense tracking, daily activity logs, fund management, download reports, real-time dashboard
2.2 Payment Processing
All payments are processed through Razorpay, our secure payment gateway partner. Accepted payment methods include:
- Credit Cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, etc.)
- Debit Cards
- UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, etc.)
- Net Banking
- Wallets
3. Refund Policy
3.1 General Refund Terms
Important: Subscription fees are generally non-refundable after payment has been processed, except in the specific circumstances outlined below.
3.2 Eligible for Refund
You may be eligible for a refund in the following situations:
Full Refund (100%) - Within 7 Days:
- Technical issues preventing system access (our fault)
- Double payment or duplicate transaction
- Payment deducted but subscription not activated
- Service not as described (with valid proof)
- System completely non-functional (our fault)
Partial Refund (Pro-rated) - After 7 Days:
- Severe technical issues making the system unusable (verified by our team)
- Data loss due to system errors (our fault)
- Feature unavailability as per subscription terms
Note: Partial refunds are calculated based on unused subscription period, minus a 10% processing fee.
3.3 NOT Eligible for Refund
Refunds will NOT be provided for:
- Change of mind after subscription activation
- User error or incorrect data entry
- Failure to use the service
- User's internet connectivity issues
- Violations of Terms and Conditions
- Account suspension due to fraudulent activity
- After the refund eligibility period has expired (7 days for full refund)
- Election completion or candidate withdrawal (service delivered)
4. Refund Request Process
4.1 How to Request a Refund
Step 1: Submit Request
Email us at refunds@emsonline.in with the following details:
- Your full name and registered email
- Transaction ID / Order ID
- Date of payment
- Amount paid
- Reason for refund request (detailed explanation)
- Supporting documents (if applicable)
Step 2: Verification
Our team will verify your request within 2-3 business days:
- Validate transaction details
- Review account usage history
- Assess eligibility as per policy
- Contact you for additional information if needed
Step 3: Decision
You will receive a decision via email within 5-7 business days:
- Approved: Refund process initiated
- Rejected: Detailed explanation provided
- Partial Approval: Alternative resolution offered
Step 4: Refund Processing
If approved, refund will be processed within:
- Card Payments: 5-7 business days
- UPI/Net Banking: 3-5 business days
- Wallets: 2-3 business days
Note: Refund time may vary depending on your bank's processing time.
4.2 Refund Method
Refunds will be processed to the original payment method used for the transaction. We do not provide refunds via alternative payment methods or to different accounts.
5. Cancellation Policy
5.1 User-Initiated Cancellation
You can cancel your subscription at any time by:
- Logging into your account and navigating to Settings > Cancel Subscription
- Emailing us at support@emsonline.in with cancellation request
- Contacting our support team directly
Effect of Cancellation:
- Access to the system continues until the end of the current billing period
- No automatic renewal for next period
- You can request data export before cancellation
- Data retained for 90 days post-cancellation for recovery (if you change your mind)
5.2 Cancellation Eligibility for Refund
- Within 7 days: Eligible for full refund if criteria met (see Section 3.2)
- After 7 days: No refund, but service continues until period end
- Partial period: No pro-rated refund for partial months/periods
5.3 Company-Initiated Cancellation
We reserve the right to cancel your subscription in case of:
- Violation of Terms and Conditions
- Fraudulent activity
- Non-payment of dues
- Misuse of the system
Refund: No refund will be provided for company-initiated cancellations due to violations.
6. Payment Failures
6.1 Failed Transactions
If your payment fails but amount is deducted:
- Wait 30 minutes for automatic reversal
- If not reversed, contact us with transaction details
- We will verify with Razorpay and initiate refund if applicable
- Refund processed within 5-7 business days
6.2 Double Payment
If you're charged twice for the same subscription:
- Contact us immediately with both transaction IDs
- We will verify and refund the duplicate payment
- Full refund processed within 3-5 business days
7. Dispute Resolution
7.1 Chargebacks
Before Initiating a Chargeback:
Please contact us first at support@emsonline.in. Chargebacks result in additional fees and may lead to account suspension.
If you initiate a chargeback:
- Your account may be suspended during dispute investigation
- We will provide transaction evidence to your bank
- If chargeback is ruled in your favor, account remains suspended
- False chargebacks may result in legal action
7.2 Dispute Process

- Explain Issue: Provide detailed information
- Wait for Response: 2-3 business days
- Resolution: Refund, credit, or alternative solution
- Escalation: If unsatisfied, escalate to management
8. Special Circumstances
8.1 Force Majeure
In case of events beyond our control (natural disasters, pandemics, government actions, etc.):
- Service interruptions may occur without refund obligation
- We will attempt to resume service as soon as possible
- Subscription period may be extended to compensate for downtime
8.2 Service Discontinuation
If we decide to discontinue the service:
- Minimum 30 days advance notice
- Pro-rated refund for unused subscription period
- Data export option provided
- Assistance with data migration if possible
9. Razorpay-Specific Terms
9.1 Payment Gateway Policy
Razorpay processes all payments. Their refund policies also apply:
- Refunds initiated by us are processed through Razorpay
- Razorpay's terms available at: razorpay.com/terms
- Transaction disputes handled according to RBI guidelines
9.2 Razorpay Fees
Razorpay charges a processing fee on transactions. In case of refunds:
- Full refunds: We bear the transaction fee
- Partial refunds: Pro-rated fee deduction
- User-error refunds: Transaction fee may be deducted from refund amount
